Discover the talents of Scandinavia at Göteborg Film Festival

Göteborg Film Festival is the leading film festival in Scandinavia and the primary industry platform in the region. In 2021 the festival alongside its industry programmes Nordic Film Market, TV Drama Vision and Nostradamus will transform into a dynamic online experience.

The 44th Göteborg Film Festival will be held on January 29 – February 8 2021 as a digital event. The festival programme will comprise a line-up of 50 new feature and short films as well as talks, Q&A’s with cast and filmmakers and more, targeting the Swedish audience.

Film Forum Sweden (Filmforum Sverige) presents talks and seminars focusing on inspiration, competence development and forward-looking dialogue targeting the Swedish film industry.

Nordic Film Market is the leading film market in Scandinavia and the primary industry platform for new films available for distribution, work in progress, film projects in development, spotting talent and trends in film from the Nordic region (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland). The platform offers wide program and several opportunities to meet, mingle and network with the Nordic and international film industry.

TV Drama Vision is a two day conference and co-production event showcasing drama series from the Nordic countries with a European outlook, bringing the latest international trends of tv drama and key people from the industry. As a part of TV Drama Vision, the Nordisk Film & Tv Fond Prize  is presented by Göteborg Film Festival and Nordisk Film & TV Fond. Five drama series from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, is each year nominated for the NOK) 200,000 award, which goes to the main writer(s) of the series.

The Nostradamus project is a multiyear international initiative to document and analyse industry changes and make projections for the future. Read the annual reports and revisit the seminars.

Göteborg Film Festival also runs Nordic Film Lab, a networking forum for upcoming northern filmmakers, and the Discovery, a co-financing platform where projects in development are presented and the Nordic Film Lab are given an opportunity to present their projects.

Festival Scope - Online Video Library

A rich selection of films from the festival is available on Festival Scope for online viewing. You are granted access if you have an Industry, VIP or Nordic Film Market accreditation and belong to one of following categories: organizations (film funds, promotion, etc), distribution, exhibition, film festival, international sales, press, production, television and VOD. The access is valid during the festival dates. Festival Scope will also feature a selection of the films for viewing online for members only after the festival.
