Yenni has an MFA from Valand Academy in Gothenburg. Her short films have been nominated and won several prizes at festivals around the world. Explosions in the Heart (working title), produced by Oslo Pictures, is supported by the Norwegian Film Institute’s programme New Ways, and will be her feature film debut based on her own story where she explores polyamory, challenges monogamy and embraces autonomy – with a sociocritical and satirical view on the addiction for love, drawing parallels to the world’s climate crisis caused by heart break and trauma, and the turbulent pain we inflict on each other.
