The 41st edition of the Göteborg Film Festival has begun! Gabriela Pichler’s Amateurs saw it’s world premiere and Alicia Vikander came home to receive the Nordic Honorary Dragon Award. And the fun has just begun!

“Göteborg Film Festival – you both educated and introduced me to the world of film, and this art form that today is my passion. And it really feels like coming home, standing here today. Through you, I early discovered some of my favorite directors like Wes Anderson, Sophia Coppola, Michael Haneke and Andrea Arnold“, said a noticeably touched Vikander.

She continued to talk about the importance of #metoo and how the business has made women into competitors instead of colleagues.

“We’ve been made to compete. Forced to believe that we need to bushwhack our way forward …guard our positions. But something has happened. It’s like we suddenly realized that there is NOT room for only ONE girl. We are sisters. Not competitors. With sisterhood comes play. Through play comes creativity.”, said Vikander.
